Spring 2025 Prairie Ronde resident Allie Wist chatted with WMUK about her art and plans for her time in Vicksburg during her residency. Taking inspiration from her previous experiences in food photography journalism and ecology, Wist will be designing sensory installations based on insights related to The Mill at Vicksburg’s sustainability projects. She plans to incorporate local, foraged ingredients, edible clay sculptures and “postindustrial” perfumes to create one-of-a-kind storied pieces that relate to environmental responsibility and climate change.
