Spared from the wrecking ball in 2014 and nominated to the National Registry of Historic Places, the Vicksburg Mill is ready to hum again.
Envision a campus – home to multiple breweries,
barley malting and hops processing facilities, light manufacturing and necessary support services to aid our tenants in the pursuit of their dreams.
For nearly 100 years, the Mill defined manufacturing in Vicksburg by acting as a pillar of the community that impacted every aspect of life in the Village. Generations of families powered the Mill with their creativity and brawn. We’re celebrating that legacy by restoring the original grandeur and upgrading the buildings with cutting-edge improvements.
Fueled from top to bottom by a solid Midwestern work ethic and the desire to do whatever it took to get the job done correctly, the Mill earned a reputation for making excellent, high quality products. We share those same traits, and the desire to prove that we are the best at what we do will continue to permeate every aspect of the Mill Works complex.
With a clear understanding that a strong Mill meant a strong and prosperous community, everyone associated with the operation knew that the rising tide lifts every boat. We know that our efforts also stand a good chance of improving the quality of life for members of our community. If we work together, a strong Mill can work for us all.
Introducing: The Prairie Ronde Artist Residency
Our goal is to bring artists to the community of Vicksburg to build upon its legacy of being a creative and cultural hub.
The Prairie Ronde Artist Residency is located in historic Vicksburg, MI. The residency provides access to the 420,000 square foot former Lee Paper Company paper mill and the adjacent 80 acres of property to use as inspiration. Artists are also encouraged to utilize our close ties to members of the village community and the area’s creative community.
